Petra - A view back down the Colonnade Street towards the Royal Tombs. The tree marks the location of the Nymphaeum, a public fountain dedicated to the nymphs probably built in the 2nd century AD.
Petra - Another view back down the Colonnade Street towards the Nymphaeum (under the tree) and the Royal Tombs.
Petra - The Temenos Gateway at the end of the Colonnaded Street. The gateway was built in the 2nd century AD with three arches, huge wooden doors and side towers. It marked the entrance to the temenos (sacred courtyard) of the Qasr al-Bint temple beyond.
