The Basilique Notre-Dame de Brebieres at Albert, topped by a gilded statue of the Virgin Mary. During WW1 this statue was left dangling by a German shell, while the town of ALbert was virtually flattened. The underground tunnels lie under and around this area.
Le Grande Mine Crater at La Boiselle (just north of Albert) was created druing the opening stages of the Battle of the Somme (WWI) by tunnelling under the Germans and exploding a huge quantity of explosives. It's huge!
