Karnak - The Temple of Amun - The columns, ceiling beams and windows which made up the Great Hypostyle Hall. Some of the original hieroglyphics and cartouches remain.
Karnak - The Temple of Amun - The view from the central courtyard with the obelisk of Tuthmosis I on the left, and that of Hatsheput on the right. Beyond them lies the Great Hypostyle Hall.
Karnak - The Temple of Amun - The obelisk of Hatsheput. This obelisk has a wall built around it by Tuthmosis III in an attempt to hide all signs of the reign of Hatsheput who was appointed regent when Tuthmosis III's father died (Tuthmosis III was too young to rule at that stage). Hatsheput later had herself appointed as Pharoah and became the most famous of the female Pharoah's, reigning for 15 years.
