Saqqara - The step pyramid of Zoser and surrounding funerary complex at Saqqara. This photo shows the Heb-Seb (Jubilee) court. These buildings are shrines to the gods of Upper Egypt, and are designed to house the spirits of the gods when they gathered to witness the rebirth of the Pharaoh during his jubilee rituals.
