Wadi Mujib Gorge - This gorge, rather optimistically known as the "Grand Canyon of Jordan' stretches for 70km across central Jordan. In the past, this gorge was the historic boundary between the ancient Amorites (to the north) and the Moabites (to the south). Moses is also believed to have walked through Wadi Mujib when it was known as the Arnon Valley. In the distance is a recently completed dam and water reservoir.
